Sep 8, 2026 Job Description 2026 - 2027 Temporary Part-Time Position to support EC students academically in a one-on-one setting, small group setting, and/or whole class setting. Will collaborate with administrative team and EC team to determine what type of support/tutoring will best serve the needs of our EC students. Flexible hours/schedule based on school/student needs (no more than 20 hours/week)....limited to 530 total contracted hours General Definition of Work Provide instruction to students in small groups and individually. Qualification Requirements
  • North Carolina teaching licensure (current or previous)
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a classroom teacher, preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research-based, current curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • General knowledge of daily routines of the classroom.
  • General knowledge of student handbook rules.
  • General knowledge of procedures to follow in the event of an emergency.
  • General knowledge of the principles of organization and administration.
  • Some knowledge of the curriculum for the grade.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity.
  • Ability to motivate students.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Ability to perform general clerical duties.
  • Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
  • Ability to operate common office machines.
  • Ability to maintain basic files and records.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments. Salary Hourly rate of pay based on education and experience. Reports to Principal Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement high-quality tutoring experiences for students that include assessing students' individual needs, providing individual and small group instruction to students based on those needs, and supporting the use of digital tools during tutoring sessions.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to determine specific student needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the staff about student progress. TUTOR Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, typewriters, calculators, pencils, scissors, and equipment for children with special needs, etc.
  • Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Due to amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for Light Work.
