We nurture belonging, connection, confidence, and independence while supporting our students in their educational, personal, and career journeys. Position Summary As a Computer Science, Engineering & Technology Tutor , you will support students as they build confidence and practical skills in technology, computer science, engineering, digital creativity, and related STEM areas. You'll work individually and in small groups with students who have a wide range of interests and experience levels. Sessions may include coding, computer programming, engineering projects, gaming, digital art, 3D modeling, computer systems, and general digital literacy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making technical concepts accessible, encouraging curiosity, and helping students turn their interests into meaningful projects, skills, and possible educational or career pathways. Key ResponsibilitiesTeach & Develop Technical Skills Provide individualized and small-group instruction in computer science, engineering, technology, and related STEM areas. Teach introductory programming and coding concepts, including languages such as Python. Support students with basic computer skills, digital literacy, file management, software use, and troubleshooting. Introduce students to engineering concepts, design thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on technical projects. Explore areas such as Blender, 3D modeling, digital art, animation, game design, gaming technology, robotics, electronics, CAD, and other technical tools based on student interest and tutor experience. Help students learn how computer hardware, software, and digital systems work. Develop engaging, project-based activities that allow students to apply what they are learning. Mentor & Support Students Build strong, supportive relationships with students, rooted in NeuroDev's philosophy of belonging to become . Break complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. Adapt instruction to different learning styles, skill levels, and areas of interest. Encourage students to troubleshoot, experiment, ask questions, and solve problems independently. Help students build confidence using technology and approaching unfamiliar tasks. Support students in identifying personal interests and connecting those interests to educational, recreational, or career opportunities. Foster a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable trying new things, making mistakes, and developing their skills. Collaborate & Communicate Work closely with mentors and leadership to support individual student goals. Share observations, progress, challenges, and ideas with the mentoring team. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student participation. Communicate proactively with the mentoring team and leadership. Assist in identifying projects, resources, software, or learning opportunities that may benefit students. Qualifications Candidates may have education, professional experience, or strong practical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Computer Science Engineering Software Development Information Technology Programming Python or other programming languages Robotics or Electronics Game Design or Game Development Blender or 3D Modeling Digital Art or Animation CAD or Product Design Computer Hardware Web Development Data Science Cybersecurity Other STEM or technology-related fields A completed degree is not required . Current college students, graduate students, recent graduates, professionals, hobbyists, makers, gamers, developers, engineers, and digital artists with relevant skills are encouraged to apply. Candidates are not expected to have expertise in every area listed above . We are interested in individuals who can bring their own technical strengths and interests into engaging learning experiences for our students.
