About the Role Kumon of Waxhaw - New Town is seeking a part‑time Early Learner Assistant / Center Assistant to support students ages 3-15 in Math and Reading. This role is ideal for high school/college students, retired teachers, and preschool teachers who enjoy working with young children in a structured learning environment. Responsibilities Work with Early Learners in a calm, supportive small‑group setting Grade completed Math and Reading worksheets accurately Assist students with center routines and help them stay on task (not tutoring) Prepare student files, pull worksheets, and organize materials Enter worksheet scores and notes into the system Support the Instructor by observing students and sharing relevant updates Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive classroom environment Qualifications Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills Middle school math knowledge is a plus Enjoy working with young children and helping them learn Patient, positive, and able to multitask in a busy environment Reliable, professional, and willing to follow the Kumon Method Retired teachers and preschool teachers are highly encouraged to apply Prior experience with children or tutoring is a plus (not required) Able to accommodate speed and accuracy ( Kumon Method and Process training will be provided ) Schedule Part‑time hours on center days (example): Monday /
