Job Description

Sylvan Learning of Grand Forks is seeking motivated UND undergraduate and graduate students to tutor middle and high school students in math and science . We are especially interested in students majoring in Education, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Pre-Medicine, Health Sciences, or related STEM fields . Education majors in areas such as Math Education, Science Education, Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Physics Education, and Secondary Education are strongly encouraged to apply. Tutors should have a strong academic background, be dependable and patient, and be able to explain concepts clearly. Prior tutoring or teaching experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for students who are available on weekdays between 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM . You do not need to be available for the entire four-hour period. We can work with consistent schedules such as 3:30-5:30, 4:00-6:00, 5:00-7:30, or other variations within those hours. Subjects may include middle school math, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Science. This is a great opportunity for UND students who want part-time work that fits around their class schedule while gaining valuable teaching, mentoring, and communication experience.
