October-May, Three (3) Days per Week, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Compensation Instructional Hourly Rate per PEA Contract (Account # 20-231-100-100-000-012) Position Summary The Community Tutoring Staff Teacher is employed by the Phillipsburg School District and provides academic support to students in grades 1-8 through the Community Tutoring Program in partnership with the Firth Youth Center and Catholic Charities. The teacher provides targeted instruction to reinforce classroom learning and support student achievement. Essential Responsibilities Provide small-group and individualized academic instruction to students in grades 1-8. Reinforce reading, mathematics, and other core academic skills. Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned tutoring sessions. Maintain student attendance and instructional records. Communicate student progress and attendance to the Community Tutoring Program Coordinator. Collaborate with school personnel, community partners, and program staff to support student success. Follow Phillipsburg School District policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate required. Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred. Strong instructional, communication, and organizational skills.
