PART-TIME HIGH SCHOOL & AP MATH & SCIENCE TUTOR

The Job:
We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring high school, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) math and science . Our students range from those building strong high school foundations to ambitious students tackling some of the most challenging coursework available to them. Ideal candidates are comfortable teaching subjects such as Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, and AP Physics. You do not need to teach every subject on this list. If derivatives make you smile, equilibrium problems sound fun, or you have strong opinions about the best way to explain rotational dynamics, we would especially like to hear from you.

For our high school and AP students, that often means being the person who can turn an intimidating problem into an interesting challenge. Whether a student is preparing for an AP exam or trying to figure out why the answer to a physics problem somehow involves three different equations, our tutors help make difficult material approachable and fun. Duties & Responsibilities:
Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals Tutoring multiple high school, honors, and/or AP-level subjects effectively Breaking advanced concepts into clear, understandable steps Helping students develop strong mathematical reasoning and scientific problem-solving skills Strengthening students' study habits and identifying how each student learns best Supporting students preparing for challenging coursework, exams, and AP tests Motivating students who need that extra oomph Working with up to three students at a time Being engaging, nimble, and professional Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions Attending team meetings and other Tutoring Club events
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree ( OR currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor's degree) from an accredited college/university Strong proficiency in upper-level high school math and/or science Confidence explaining challenging concepts clearly to high school students Reliable transportation Previous tutoring or teaching experience is not required, but is a plus. Experience with AP, college-level, engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative coursework is highly valued.
