A Tutor works with students who need additional help or review. Provides instruction in an academic subject, or reviews a particular class lesson, or assists with preparing for a test. Works with students one-on-one or in a small group, and usually meets with students outside of school.

2 homeschooled students (Ages 12 and 14) Position Overview We are seeking an innovative, forward-thinking Private In-Home AI & Technology Tutor for two bright homeschooled students (ages 12 and 14). The goal of this role is to introduce artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, computer literacy, basic programming concepts, and digital safety in an engaging, hands-on environment. The ideal mentor will teach students how to safely and effectively use AI tools as learning accelerators, creative assistants, and problem-solving aids.
Key Responsibilities AI Literacy & Fundamentals:
Teach foundational concepts of how artificial intelligence and machine learning work at an age-appropriate level.
Prompt Engineering & Tool Mastery:
Train students on how to construct effective prompts, use generative AI tools for research, coding, writing, and creative projects, and critically evaluate AI output for accuracy.
Applied Projects:
Guide students through interactive projects—such as building basic AI tools, creating automation scripts, or integrating AI with their existing math and business coursework.
Ethics & Digital Safety:
Instill strong principles around digital citizenship, privacy, data security, critical thinking, and the ethical implications of AI technology.
Homeschool Integration:
Adapt lessons to the students' pace, fostering curiosity, technical confidence, and self-directed learning.
Background or active degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/Robotics, Educational Technology, or a related field.
Practical AI Proficiency:
Experience working with modern AI models (LLMs, generative media, automation tools) and basic programming languages (e.g., Python).
Teaching Experience:
Proven track record tutoring or teaching middle/high school students, with an ability to simplify complex technical ideas.
Reliability:
Must reside near or be able to reliably commute to the 89135 area.
Clearances:
Must pass a standard background check and provide professional references. Preferred Attributes Tech-savvy, creative, and enthusiastic mentor who stays current with emerging technology. Ability to connect tech skills directly to real-world applications and future career paths. Patient and encouraging approach tailored to pre-teens and young teens.
