Job Description

We are looking for instructors who have a strong command of mathematics and can effectively prepare middle and high school students for the SHSAT and SAT Math sections . The ideal candidate can explain challenging concepts clearly, teach efficient test-taking strategies, and help students improve both their skills and confidence.
Program Schedule:
Every Saturday (9:00-12:00 or 12:30-3:30pm) Responsibilities Teach SHSAT and SAT Math classes and/or small group tutoring sessions Cover key topics including algebra, geometry, functions, ratios, percentages, statistics, probability, and word problems Teach effective
SHSAT/SAT
problem-solving and time-management strategies Explain difficult concepts in a clear, student-friendly way Review practice tests, homework, and student mistakes Grading students' Homework Identify students' strengths and areas for improvement Maintain an organized, positive, and engaging classroom environment Communicate professionally with students, parents, and center staff Qualifications Strong proficiency in SHSAT and SAT-level mathematics Bachelor's degree preferred Prior teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred
SHSAT/SAT
test-prep experience is a plus Excellent communication and classroom-management skills Patient, responsible, punctual, and dependable Comfortable teaching middle and high school students Able to work in person in Elmhurst, Queens Preferred Candidates We especially welcome candidates who: Have previous experience teaching SHSAT or SAT Math Are familiar with current SHSAT and Digital SAT question formats Can teach both foundational math skills and advanced test-taking strategies Have experience working at tutoring centers or test-preparation programs
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
