In-Person Academic Tutor (The Hamptons, NY)

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging in-person academic tutor to support a K-6th grade students located in The Hamptons, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students from 3rd-8th grade who benefit from clear structure, patient guidance, and individualized attention. This is a one-on-one tutoring position designed to supplement and support a rigorous, college-preparatory private school curriculum rooted in inquiry-based learning, strong writing foundations, and cross-disciplinary thinking. The student benefits from a tutor who can reinforce key academic skills while building confidence and fostering curiosity.

Responsibilities:

Provide tailored academic support in core subjects, specifically Reading, Writing, Math, and Science Develop and adapt lesson plans that align with the student's curriculum and learning style Help the student feel confident in their course work Communicate progress and challenges regularly with the family Must be on-time and reliable

Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher (Education or subject-specific degree preferred) Prior teaching or tutoring experience with elementary school students Strong understanding of independent/private school expectations and progressive educational philosophies Reliable transportation; must be available for in-person sessions Must be able to provide 1-2 references
