Full Job Description Purpose:
Coach Sam's Scholars, a nonprofit that provides academic and social-emotional support to underserved youth, is seeking two tutors for school-day tutoring.
Program Operations :
Coach Sam's program operates 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday) from 10-2. Tutors must be available and present for all session days.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide meaningful one-on-one instruction. Act on constructive feedback provided by Coach Sam's staff. Build professional relationships and communicate regularly with parents/guardians, school staff, and Coach Sam's staff. Maintain a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment. Follow all program policies and procedures.
Reports to:
President Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with students in a tutoring, teaching, or mentoring capacity or a degree in Education or English. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. Punctual, reliable, and professional in interactions with students, parents, and personnel. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Speak, read, and write English fluently
Requirements:
Completion of a background check prior to tutoring. Availability to commit to the full duration of the program. Participation in required tutor training sessions
