Professional Tutors are also required to participate in department training and other professional development opportunities to maintain a knowledge of their subject area(s) and current teaching methods. While the Tutoring and Learning Center supports a variety of subjects, this search is specifically for any of the following content areas: Writing/Composition, History, Political Science, ESL, Introduction to Statistics, Business Statistics I & II, and Nursing; however, it is not limited to these areas. Principal Accountabilities Provide individual tutoring, small group tutoring, and/or lab tutoring for Sinclair Community College students Assist with Sinclair, Student Affairs, and Tutoring & Learning Center initiatives Participate in department training and other professional development opportunities to maintain a knowledge of their subject area(s) and current teaching methods Other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum of an associate's degree required OR minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent accompanied with at least 60 semester hours in higher education required; bachelor's or master's degree in related field preferred Minimum of one (1) year of experience in tutoring or teaching experience with a preference in working with a diverse student population required Ability to demonstrate a high level of skill with communication, patience, problem solving, listening, dependability, teaching, leadership, and adaptability needed to serve students required Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft Outlook preferred
