Job Description

Title:

Springfield Reads After-School Tutor Reports to: Building Principal(s)

HOURS:

Approximately 3.5 hours per week (includes planning time and pick-up times) After school in the designated building on

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Tutoring Time:

3:45-4:45 PM

•Teachers must stay until all students have left the building.

HOURLY RATE

$25/hour (54 days); not to exceed 70 hours total

October 6, 2026 through March 25, 2027

•No sessions during December.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid and appropriate teaching certificate/license from the State of Ohio. Recent teaching experience at the elementary level preferred. Knowledge of OTES (Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) 2.0 domains for effective teaching. Knowledge of the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession. Knowledge of Ohio's Revised ELA Learning Standards and learner outcomes associated with Cambium Assessments. Knowledge of Google applications, including Google Classroom. Knowledge of how to integrate technology into the curriculum. Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g., at-risk, high-achieving, special education). Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Track student attendance throughout the duration of the program. Organize curricular materials related to the program. Willing to teach skill-targeted lessons to students enrolled in the program. Maintain contact with regular classroom teachers to determine the content and skills that need reinforcement. Maintains records related to tutees. Other duties as assigned.
