Engineering Lab Assistant/Tutor

GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
This position requires the person to frequently move about the classroom and engineering lab area to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to faculty, staff and students to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations. This position requires the person to frequently position self to work on equipment in Engineering Lab area. This position requires the person to occasionally use upper and lower body to exert force up to 50 pounds to push, pull and/or lift materials or equipment. This position frequently requires the person to operate and inspect Engineering Lab equipment, to instruct students on proper operation.VISUAL ACUITY
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.WORKING CONDITIONS
This positions essential functions are performed in an indoor, classroom and lab area. This position requires the person to communicate above sufficient noise and exchange accurate information in various situations. This position requires the person to be able to frequently move in close proximity to Engineering Lab equipment located in the lab area. This position requires the person to frequently be exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, and gases associated with an Engineering Lab area. Preferred Qualifications None. Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement) The STEP Engineering Lab Assistant/Tutor assists students with their lecture material, lab work and special projects during scheduled hours in the Engineering Lab.
