The primary areas of need are math, grammar, and writing , although the tutor may assist students in other subjects as needed. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working one-on-one or with small groups of students and is able to explain concepts in different ways until a student understands them. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring. Assist students primarily with math, grammar, writing, and related academic skills. Identify where students are struggling and help them strengthen foundational skills. Explain concepts clearly and patiently without simply giving students the answers. Help students complete and understand assigned coursework. Provide additional practice and reinforcement when needed. Encourage students while also holding them accountable for completing their work. Communicate with teachers and school leadership regarding student progress and areas of concern. What We're Looking For Strong skills in math and/or English, grammar, and writing . Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or working academically with children or teenagers. Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles. Patient, encouraging, and comfortable redirecting students when they are distracted or not putting forth appropriate effort. Reliable, organized, and able to work independently. Comfortable using basic educational technology and online learning programs. A committed Christian who supports the school's biblical mission and values. A teaching degree is not required . We are primarily looking for someone who knows the material, connects well with students, and has demonstrated an ability to help students learn.
Schedule:
Part-time during regular school hours. Hours may vary based on student needs. If you enjoy helping students overcome academic challenges and experience the confidence that comes from finally understanding something that was difficult, we would love to hear from you.
Pay:
