Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Academic Tutor to inspire and support Pre-k to 12+ students across various educational levels. In this role, you will provide personalized instruction, develop engaging curricula, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles. Your enthusiasm for education and commitment to student success will help learners achieve their academic goals and increase confidence, whether they need assistance in core subjects like mathematics, science, English language arts, or specialized areas such as SAT or ASVAB preparation, Spanish and special education. Responsibilities Deliver engaging one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs and learning styles Develop and adapt curriculum materials, lesson plans, and instructional activities that align with educational standards and student goals Utilize learning technology tools to enhance online instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement Support students with diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education services or English language arts support Prepare students for standardized tests such as the SAT through targeted tutoring strategies Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and instructional plans Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design across multiple subjects including mathematics, science, and English language arts and Spanish Excellent tutoring skills with experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Ability to adapt teaching approaches based on individual learning styles and needs Experience with assessing academic gaps and weaknesses and strengths, lesson planning, and working with children or adult learners Effective communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students Knowledge of the foundational building blocks for emergent Reading and Math skills Ability to work flexibly in a supportive educational environment with strong organizational and recordkeeping skills Knowledge of Reading and Spelling curriculum for Susan Barton/Orton Gillingham, UFLI, Heggerty, etc. is a bonus Join us in empowering learners through innovative teaching methods and personalized support!
