202600088BASIC PURPOSE Hours:
Up to 25 hours per week- This position requires PA Child Ause, PA State Police and FBI Clearance prior to employment date.
General Purpose:
Tutors students within the classroom setting to enhance understanding and knowledge of course material and topics. Support faculty instructor in assisting students during class meeting times to augment faculty pedagogical efforts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties:
- Provide tutor assistance to students enrolled in assigned courses, in one-on-one and group settings, during weekly class times
- Attend all class sessions throughout the term, including exam sessions, to aid students in understanding the material as needed
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues
- Attend all required training sessions
- Maintain open communication with assigned faculty member as well as Manager of Peer Support
- Complete and submit bi-weekly time entry (for payroll purposes)
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Grade of B or higher in all courses taken at MCCC in subject area for which tutor will be supporting- Commitment to assisting student learners, strong interest in tutoring and commitment to education
