Position Information Requisition Number Stu784P Position Type Student Worker Department Department of Student Workers Job Title Student Worker - TUTOR Music Department Academic Year 2026-2027 Classification Student Worker Pay Rate Starting rate $10.00/hr Position Summary Information Hours per week Varies Days Worked M-F Hours/Shift worked 8am-4pm Posting Detail Information Job Summary/Basic Function The Music Department is looking for degree Tutors.
Two for each degree program:
Music Education Music Industry Bachelor of Arts in Music Required Qualifications MUST be a music major Sufficient knowledge of musical terms to proficiently educate music students Enrolled in the Music Department as a Music Student Major Able to teach the fundamentals of the art of music Critical thinking skills associated with reading and writing music Must be able to work independently and self-driven Must be punctual, dependable and trustworthy Performance experience with a variety of instruments Knowledgeable of all majors, class requirements, and the program in general. Ability to mentor as a positive role model. Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints). Preferred Qualifications N/A Job Duties Provide one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of music composition, production, and instrumentation of musical instruments Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with students. Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement. Self-directed, proactive and intelligent Ability to mentor as a positive role model with patience and compassion. Maintains positive attitude and strong teamwork Ability to reserve judgment and respond with curiosity and compassion.
