Position Type:
Independent Contractor (1099) Bright Futures Tutoring is growing, and we're looking for passionate, knowledgeable tutors to join our team! Whether you're a certified teacher, a graduate student, or a current undergraduate with strong subject expertise and a heart for helping students succeed, we'd love to hear from you. About Us Bright Futures Tutoring provides personalized, one-on-one and small-group academic support to students of all ages and skill levels. We're building a team of dedicated tutors who can connect with students, build confidence, and deliver real academic growth. About the Role We're looking for knowledgeable, energetic tutors to support students in ACT Math and Science test preparation. This role combines one-on-one tutoring with occasional classroom-style instruction for our group ACT prep courses and workshops. You'll help students build content mastery, test-taking strategy, and confidence heading into test day. What You'll Do Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in ACT Math and/or Science, tailored to each student's diagnostic results and goals Lead or co-lead classroom-style ACT prep sessions (e.g., Power Camps, workshops) covering math and science content and strategy Track student progress and session notes using our scheduling platform for one-on-one tutoring (Teachworks) Communicate professionally with students, parents, and Bright Futures staff regarding scheduling, progress, and areas of focus Help develop or adapt practice materials, drills, and pacing strategies as needed Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that builds student confidence alongside skill What We're Looking For Strong command of ACT Math content (algebra through pre-calculus) and ACT Science reasoning skills (data interpretation, experimental design, conflicting viewpoints) Prior tutoring, teaching, or classroom instruction experience preferred Comfort explaining concepts multiple ways to fit different learning styles Reliable, punctual, and professional in working with students and families Strong ACT scores in relevant sections (official or practice) preferred Ability to pass a background check Must sign Bright Futures Tutoring's Independent Contractor Agreement prior to starting Work Locations We offer flexibility in where sessions take place, depending on tutor and student preference: Online — virtual sessions via video call In-office — sessions held at our Bright Futures location
Details Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, paid as a 1099 independent contractor
Schedule:
Flexible — a mix of after-school, evening, and weekend availability is ideal; classroom sessions may follow a set seasonal schedule
Location:
Primarily in-person at our Maple Grove office; occasional virtual sessions possible
Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour
