Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Language Arts Elementary tutor for a 2nd grader on the spectrum (mild) and a 1st grade/sibling also for Language Arts. Back to back sessions same day, 1 hour each. NO Online Tutoring for these students. Tutoring to take place In-person in the student's Fairfield home. Daytime/weekday tutoring preferred anytime between 9:00 am- noon with flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent tutoring using positive reinforcement and building self confidence.
- Skilled tutoring, teaching using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments.
- Ability to simplify concepts, help build better study habits and organizational skills if needed.
- Help to improve academic performance and praise small victories with a step by step approach.
- Assist students with guidance and understanding of course materials and meeting their individual academic needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.
- Former teachers/subs are encouraged to apply. A teaching credential is not required.
- Proficiency in Elementary Language Arts and working with special ed sstudents.
- Minimum 2 years experience working with students.
- Excellent communication skills with Parents, Students, Company Admin.
- Simplify concepts and adaptability with different student earning styles.
- Basic technical skills for reporting sessions on our tutor platform, writing concise student progress notes, and communicate in a timely manner.
