Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SpEd tutor for 5th and 7th grade siblings Bright, eager, students needing help with Reading, Writng and Math. Tutoring in the student's Sunyvale home, weekday mornings (anytime between 9-noon) NO Online Tutoring for these students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and be able to provide educational and motivational support with engagement skills using kindness, care and patience. Experience working with students with ADHD, Dyslexia and Dysgraphia is a requirements. No teaching credential required; one-on-one or small group tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent tutoring using positive reinforcement and building self confidence.
• Skilled tutoring, teaching using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments.
• Ability to simplify concepts, help build better study habits and organizational skills if needed.
• Help to improve academic performance and praise small victories with a step by step approach.
• Assist students with guidance and understanding of course materials and meeting their individual academic needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.
• Former teachers/subs are encouraged to apply. A teaching credential is not required.
• Proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Math.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with SpEd students.
• Excellent communication skills with Parents, Students, Company Admin.
• Simplify concepts and adaptability with different student earning styles.
• Basic technical skills for reporting sessions on our tutor platform, writing concise student progress notes, and communicate in a timely manner.
