Job Description
About East Coast Scholars East Coast Scholars is a Nassau County-based tutoring, test prep, and college advising company. We work with high-achieving students across Long Island — including Manhasset, Great Neck, Jericho, and surrounding communities — to help them build the skills and confidence to hit ambitious score targets. Our SAT students regularly see 100-200+ point score increases, and our tutors are a core reason why: they teach content mastery and real test-day strategy, not just review. The Role We're hiring an SAT Tutor to work one-on-one and/or in small-group settings with high school students preparing for the Digital SAT. You'll administer diagnostics, build individualized prep plans, and guide students through content review, targeted strategy, and timed practice tests. Sessions are based out of our Farmingdale office. We strongly prefer tutors who can meet students in person, but we're open to remote/Zoom sessions for the right candidate. Responsibilities Deliver 1-on-1 and/or small-group SAT prep sessions covering Math, Reading, and Writing Administer and score diagnostic and full-length practice tests Build and adjust individualized prep plans based on student performance and target scores Track student progress and communicate updates to our team Coordinate as needed with our college advising team so SAT prep supports each student's broader admissions strategy Qualifications Personal SAT score of 1400+ (official score report may be requested) Bachelor's degree, or currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred, but not required — strong candidates with excellent scores and a clear ability to teach are encouraged to apply Reliable availability during after-school hours and/or weekends Comfortable working with the Digital SAT format Must be able to commute to or work from our Farmingdale, NY office for in-person sessions (preferred) Compensation & Schedule $40/hour, paid per session as a 1099 independent contractor Part-time, flexible scheduling based on student demand and your availability Hours are primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the school year, with additional daytime availability valuable during the summer How to Apply Please email your resume, along with your SAT score (or a brief note on relevant qualifications), to admissions@eastcoastscholars.com .
