Job Description
Test Prep Tutor - RemoteRath Tutoring looking to hire Part-Time AP and Test Prep Tutor to prepare students for AP courses and standardized testing such as the ACT, SAT, ISEE, and SSAT in one-on-one tutor sessions.
We are looking to expand our team of highly experienced tutors who are passionate about what they do. Our employees enjoy our boutique environment, the freedom of autonomy in their roles, and the ability to provide personalized teachings to their students. Our focus on operational excellence has led to efficient, user-friendly tutor platforms and processes that provide an opportunity for tutors to truly help their students succeed, without having to handle burdensome administrative tasks.
AP/College Prep and
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESHelp each of your students achieve their academic goals.
Implement customized lesson plans based on their needs.
Assess and identify students' weak points and help determine the right teaching strategy for each student.
Ability to improvise and look at a problem from more than one perspective.
Record notes at the end of each session detailing the previous sessions' homework, topics covered, any comments in terms of progress or stagnation, and the homework given.
Take note of any issues as needed, such as students being distracted or a lack of effort.
Other duties as assigned.
Proven ability to provide engaging and educational 1-on-1 remote tutoring sessions.5 years or 5,000 hours of teaching experience as well as experience teaching in a variety of formats would be a plus.
Mastery of SAT, ACT, ISEE, and SSAT standardized test prep.
Experience with GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, and DAT is a plus.
Experience and ability to tutor at minimum 1 collegiate/AP level coursework in STEM subjects.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbalDependable and self-motivatedFlexible to adapt to changes in schedulesAbility to work remote with cloud-based systems and participate in Google Meet/Zoom type meetings internally and externally.
Proven efficiency and fluency utilizing Zoom, White Board and other online tools for educational/tutoring purposes.
Desired availability to accept tutor sessions during the following hours based on tutor's time zone (ideally at least one weekend option and 3 out of 4 weekday options):
Available at least 4 hours on weekends; Typically between Saturdays 10am-4pm and/or Sunday 10am-6pmSufficient availability Monday - Thursday afternoon/evenings (Typically between 12pm - 8pm)
Remote work environment.

The bulk of our business comes from test preparation for standardized tests, so your role is essential to our business. Successful tutors are passionate about what they do, dedicated to their students success, and have a talent for identifying students' challenges and implementing personalized lesson plans for improvement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESHelp each of your students achieve their academic goals.
