Job Description

About the Position We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle School Tutor (Grade 8) to provide one-on-one academic support for an eighth-grade student. The tutor will assist with daily homework, reinforce classroom concepts, and help the student build strong academic skills and confidence across multiple subjects. This position is available both online and in person . In-person sessions will be held at our Cambridge, MA office. Subjects Mathematics English Language Arts Science History / Social Studies Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring for an eighth-grade student. Help with homework assignments and test preparation. Explain concepts clearly and adapt lessons to the student's learning style. Strengthen foundational knowledge across all core subjects. Encourage good study habits, organization, and independent learning. Communicate student progress with our team when needed. Qualifications Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum (Grade 8). Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic about helping students succeed. Bachelor's degree or current college student in a relevant field preferred. Ability to teach multiple subjects is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with middle school students. Familiarity with Massachusetts or U.S. middle school curriculum. Available for evening or weekend tutoring. Comfortable teaching both in person and online.
