Edge Academics is seeking a math tutor or teacher to join our team. This position is part-time and the schedule is flexible. Tutors work one-on-one with middle school and high school students to review concepts, assist with homework, prepare for tests, teach organization and study skills, and monitor student grades and progress. Tutors may also assist homeschooled students and directly teach new content to students in a one-on-one setting. Instruction is conducted mainly in person and occasionally remotely via Zoom. Tutors may meet students at their homes or public libraries. Tutors who drive to student homes are compensated for additional travel time. The company provides clients and supplies, does all billing, and lends support with students when needed. Tutors are responsible for the teaching and management of students during sessions as well as managing their schedule. The hours are flexible, but tutors generally meet students weekdays after school between 3:00 and 8:00 pm. There is potential for weekend and daytime hours if desired. Tutors set their own schedule, but must be available to work a minimum of 6 hours per week. Thorough knowledge of middle school and high school level math concepts is required for this position. The ability to tutor other subjects, including ACT prep, chemistry, physics, or writing, is preferred. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is strongly preferred, but not required. A background check is required. We are looking for a friendly, engaging, and motivated tutor to join our team!
