Job Description

This position serves as Learning Specialist/Tutor Coordinator reporting to the Director of Enrichment Services. Work in conjunction with academic advisors to assist student-athletes with various needs as they relate to academics. Primary purpose is to advise and assist a specific segment of students in need of additional support services, to include at-risk, under prepared or learning disabled individuals. Advise on course selection and assist with academic preparation based on each individual student-athlete's strengths and needs. Assist with student-athlete recruiting events and orientation. This position is responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling all tutors and academic coaches (part time and graduate student positions) for all other aspects of tutoring.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree plus one year of experience or a bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Collegiate experience is strongly preferred; experience with student-athletes is highly desirable.
