Job Description
Job Summary This is a part-time, 2 days a week position. Candidates must be available between 8 and 3 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the school year. We are seeking dedicated and passionate tutors with a genuine love for children who can create a responsible and nurturing environment where young learners can explore, discover, and grow. The ideal candidate will be adept at implementing a curriculum that emphasizes phonics and early literacy (K-2), ELA (3-6), basic math concepts, character development, and foundational knowledge in history, science, and the arts. This candidate should also have strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment conducive to a classical educational model. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with young children, parents, and colleagues is a must. This is a great opportunity for a retired teacher or stay at home parent desiring to impact the lives of children in an unique educational model. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain an engaging learning atmosphere.
- Communicate progress and challenges with students and their families.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary. Qualifications
- Proven experience in elementary tutoring or teaching, classical or homeschool experience a plus.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools and resources for effective instruction.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and families.
- Background in education or homeschooling experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to educate diverse learners by adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Four year degree is required.
