If you are fluent in Pashto and English and enjoy helping young people succeed, this is an opportunity to use your language skills to make a meaningful difference every day. You will work directly with classroom teachers and Pashto-speaking students who may be adjusting to a new language, school system, or academic environment. Your role is to help students understand classroom instruction, strengthen their English-language skills, improve academically, and build confidence. What You'll Do Provide academic support to Pashto-speaking students in grades K-12 . Work onsite at an assigned elementary, middle, or high school campus . Use your fluency in Pashto and English to help students overcome language barriers. Support students with English vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and classroom assignments. Help explain academic concepts in ways that multilingual students can understand. Provide support primarily alongside classroom teachers, with opportunities for individual and small-group instruction. Lead small-group tutorials of approximately 1-8 students when needed. Assist students in strengthening reading, writing, Language Arts, and other foundational academic skills. Help students prepare for classroom assessments and standardized testing. Collaborate with teachers to adjust instructional support based on student needs. Track student attendance, participation, and academic progress. Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for newcomer and multilingual students. Schedule Positions are generally available Monday through Friday during the school day.

Typical schedules may include:

8:00 AM-3:00 PM 8:30 AM-3:30 PM Specific hours depend on the assigned campus. What Makes You a Great Fit You may be a strong candidate if: You speak Pashto fluently . You also communicate effectively in English. Reading and writing Pashto is preferred. You enjoy working with children, teenagers, multilingual learners, or newcomer students. You are patient, encouraging, dependable, and comfortable working in a school environment. You can explain academic concepts clearly and help students build confidence. You have experience in teaching, tutoring, education, mentoring, youth development, or a related field. Two or more years of academic teaching or tutoring experience is preferred. You have a strong foundation in English Language Arts, reading, and writing. A Bachelor's degree is preferred . Teaching, ESL, bilingual education, or related certification is a plus but not required. You can successfully complete required background screening.
