Reading Interventionist / Teacher / Tutor The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk- The University of Texas at Austin Hutto, TX Job Details Temporary | Part-time From $25 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications School experience English Experience working with children Working with students Full Job Description The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk (MCPER) at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a reading interventionist to provide small-group reading instruction to elementary students in Hutto ISD. The interventionist will work as part of a collaborative research team supporting students in public school settings. This position is dependent upon grant funding and is expected to continue through May 2027.
Schedule:
Up to 19 hours per week across 4-5 days, Monday through Friday, during school hours (7:45 a.m.-3:00 p.m.). Experienced teachers, paraprofessionals, and others with student instructional experience are encouraged to apply. Reading instruction experience is preferred. Job Description Provide quality instruction designed to strengthen students' word-reading and reading-comprehension skills. Maintain a positive, supportive, and productive learning environment. Participate in training (professional development + instructional coaching) to deliver high-quality instruction using scripted lesson plans developed by the MCPER research team. Job Requirements Experience working with children in an educational setting Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills Must be reliable, flexible, and a team player Must possess strong English language proficiency Must have a reliable vehicle for travel to Hutto ISD elementary schools Ability to pass a required criminal background check & fingerprinting Must be willing to travel to Austin (UT campus) for training and other HR-related items Desired Qualifications Certified teaching experience Experience working with elementary-aged students Experience providing reading instruction Schedule Part-time, temporary position Available to work 7-19 hours per week, Mon through Fri, during school hours (7:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.). •Follows Hutto ISD school calendar Pay $25.00/hour Location Hutto Hours per week varies : 10-19
