N/A Primary Purpose:
The at-risk tutor, under supervision of the campus administrator or program director, will facilitate tutorial sessions with small groups of students engaged in academic problem-solving and accelerated learning to close the achievement gap of at-risk students. Tutors do not re-teach curriculum or work as homework assistants. Tutors will become familiar with and use research-based strategies such as designed by campus or program administrators.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree is required. Texas Teacher certification required.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Open and honest communication with the core teacher, campus/ program administrator, student or student's parent. Set an example of organization, responsibility, and personal excellence for struggling at risk students. Communicate high expectations for achievement for all at risk students. Comfort working with a diverse student population. Ability to efficiently plan, document, and communicate support services electronically. Ability to identify student conceptual gaps using multiple formal and informal assessment measures. Ability to successfully implement aspects of
IEP, 504
academic accommodations and LPAC recommendations Ability to identify multiple means for conveying content to students with diverse learning styles and needs. Tutor must be on time and reliable.
