Job Description

The Friends of Foster Care is looking SPED Tutors that can provide academic support to students with 504 plans or IEP's in place. We are looking for special education professionals with classroom experience and a passion for helping at-risk youth reach their full potential. Tutoring typically takes place after school, in-person. We offer flexible scheduling, great pay and heartwarming work! Our tutoring program is top-notch with many success stories and praise for our tutors that go the extra mile to ensure that our youth thrive.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with accommodations (if applicable)
  • Utilize learning technologies to enhance instruction and engage students
  • Assess student progress and provide timely tutoring session reports
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification or license (or recently retired is acceptable)
  • Experience working with students, preferably in a classroom setting
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional techniques
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
