Special Education Tutor

The Friends of Foster Care is looking for Tutors to provide academic support to youth in the Suffolk, VA area . Tutoring typically takes place after school, in-person. Our tutors are sub-contractors

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements
• Utilize learning technologies to enhance instruction and engage students
• Assess student progress and provide timely tutoring session reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or license (or recently retired is acceptable)
• Experience working with students, preferably in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional techniques
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders

Pay:

$36.00
