You must be within driving distance of Virginia Beach, VA 23451 . Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our Valor Tutoring team. Valor Tutoring provides high-quality, in person, individualized tutoring for children of military families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and tutoring, with the ability to develop engaging curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. This role involves working with learners of various ages, to enhance their understanding of subjects and improve their academic performance. Current need is for an 11th grade student needing ELA and homework help. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique learning styles of each student. Provide tutoring support in various subjects, ensuring students grasp key concepts and skills. Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance the tutoring experience and engage students effectively. Create a positive and productive learning environment. Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement. Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence in their abilities. Adapt teaching methods based on student feedback and performance assessments. Skills Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning. Proficient in utilizing learning technology to facilitate effective tutoring sessions. Experience in tutoring or teaching across various age groups. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage students effectively. Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and foster relationships with students and parents. Background in early childhood education is advantageous. Previous experience in childcare or working directly with students is preferred.
