$16.90/hr About the Opportunity Want to get paid to be part of the game? SoCal Basketball is enrolling new officials in our 10-week Referee Training Program. No experience needed. We'll teach you everything from the rules and mechanics to on-court signals, and pair you with an experienced mentor referee who works games alongside you until you're ready to officiate on your own. What the Program Looks Like 10 weekly sessions mixing online instruction with on-court practice Paired one-on-one with a trained mentor referee Start with the basics, then work real tournament games with your mentor by your side Complete the program, pass your evaluation, and start officiating independently with paid tournament assignments $35 one-time fee covers your official referee shirt and whistle, yours to keep What We're Looking For Anyone interested in basketball and officiating, no prior reffing experience necessary Must be 16 or older Reliable attendance for all 10 weeks, typically Saturday morning/early afternoon Comfortable being on your feet, moving around the court, and making quick decisions Good communication skills and a level head under pressure Why Join Learn a skill that can turn into steady, flexible paid work officiating games Get hands-on mentorship from experienced referees Certification with us is also a stepping stone to high school officiating, where certified officials typically earn $60-80 per game Be part of SoCal Basketball and the local basketball community Apply at this link: https://refs.socalbasketballclub.com/referee-application
