Weeknights and weekends Job Summary We are looking for reliable and professional Sports Officials / Referees to officiate recreational and competitive games in the Los Angeles area. Sports may include soccer, flag football, volleyball, and basketball . This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy sports, working with youth and/or adults, and creating a fair, safe, and positive game environment. Prior officiating experience is preferred, but it is not required . We are willing to train the right candidates and can help qualified individuals become certified to officiate . Responsibilities Officiate games for soccer, flag football, volleyball, and/or basketball Enforce league rules and safety guidelines Maintain control of the game and communicate clearly with players, coaches, and staff Arrive on time and prepared for assigned games Inspect game areas, equipment, and player readiness before play begins Make fair and consistent calls during gameplay Report game scores, incidents, injuries, or rule issues as required Help create a positive, respectful, and sportsmanlike environment Qualifications Knowledge of one or more of the following sports: soccer, flag football, volleyball, or basketball Previous refereeing, coaching, playing, or sports experience preferred, but not required Willingness to learn and complete officiating training/certification if needed Strong communication and decision-making skills Ability to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation to game locations in the Los Angeles area Must be punctual, dependable, and professional Ability to work evenings and/or weekends Must be able to stand, walk, jog, or run during games depending on the sport Preferred Experience Prior experience as a referee, official, coach, athlete, or league staff member Experience working with youth sports, adult leagues, recreation programs, or school sports Officiating certification is a plus, but not required We can assist qualified candidates with becoming certified to officiate CPR/First Aid certification is a plus but not required Schedule Games may be scheduled during weekday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, seasonal tournaments, or special events. Officials are assigned based on availability, location, sport knowledge, and experience. Work Location Games are held throughout the Los Angeles area , including nearby communities depending on league needs. Applicants should be comfortable traveling to local fields, gyms, schools, parks, or recreation facilities.
