Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Ball Hockey Referee, where you will play a vital role in ensuring fair play, safety, and an enjoyable experience for all participants. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to stay active, develop officiating skills, and contribute to the vibrant local sports community. This position is for Sundays only, with games starting at 9:00 AM. Each game lasts approximately one hour. Compensation is $20-$25 per game, based on experience. Training is provided, so prior refereeing experience is not required. Referees who are available to work 5 consecutive games will receive a bonus. Responsibilities Enforce game rules accurately and consistently during ball hockey matches, interpreting sports regulations with clarity. Manage player conduct, resolve conflicts swiftly, and promote sportsmanship on the rink. Monitor game safety protocols, including manual handling of equipment and ensuring players adhere to safety standards. Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to facilitate smooth game operations. Experience Previous sports officiating experience or familiarity with sports rules interpretation is preferred. Experience working with children or youth in sports settings is highly valued. Knowledge of multiple sports such as baseball, soccer, basketball, or hockey is advantageous. Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation is preferred Strong communication skills coupled with conflict management abilities are essential for maintaining a positive game environment.
