Full Job Description Description:
Crosscourt exists to unite and ignite Ballers through the power of basketball. That's not a tagline — it's the job. No matter the title of your role, the heart of it is the same: you're a community facilitator. We're building a team of people who bring real energy, play team ball, and take pride in the room they walk into. People who get better because the people around them are getting better. If that sounds like you — pull up. Welcome to Crosscourt. Position Summary The Session Official is a part-time role responsible for officiating Crosscourt basketball sessions with integrity, authority, and energy. Beyond enforcing the rules of play, Session Officials serve as active facilitators of the game-day experience — managing tempo, maintaining a safe and competitive environment, and contributing to the culture that defines every Crosscourt session. This role requires a confident court presence, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine investment in the member experience.
Core Competencies Community Leadership:

Manages diverse personalities and high-pressure moments with calm authority, maintaining composure and control throughout each session.
Communication:
Delivers clear, confident, and respectful communication whether explaining a call, orienting new players, or coordinating with the Experience Team.
Collaborative Mindset:
Partners effectively with fellow officials and club staff to maintain seamless session flow and uphold operational standards.
Growth Orientation:
Approaches each session as an opportunity to improve; receptive to feedback and committed to raising the standard of officiating at every shift. Key Responsibilities Session Leadership Arrive prior to the session start time to greet players, prepare the court, and establish a professional presence before the opening tip. Officiate one-hour games in accordance with Crosscourt's house rules and format, applying calls with consistency and confidence. Manage game tempo effectively, keeping sessions on schedule and addressing on-court situations with clarity and control. Bring professionalism and authentic energy to every session, understanding that court presence and personality are complementary. Uphold standards of fair, safe, and competitive play throughout the duration of each shift. Member & Guest Experience Provide a welcoming and high-quality experience for trial players and prospective members, ensuring their first session reflects the Crosscourt standard. Anticipate player needs, respond to questions with clarity, and actively cultivate an environment where all participants feel respected and included. Represent and reinforce the Crosscourt culture and aesthetic from the opening tip through the final buzzer. Team Collaboration & Facility Operations Maintain open communication with the Experience Team throughout the shift, escalating any issues promptly and professionally. Coordinate with fellow officials and staff to keep courts clean, sessions running on time, and players informed of format and expectations. Sustain court presence and energy between games, ensuring continuity of the Crosscourt experience across the full shift.
