Full Job Description Job Description:

The Presto Operator will be the official scorer at all home Big Train games and must provide impartial scoring decisions, and is responsible for keeping both an electronic and written record of every play of the game. The statistician may be asked to provide multi-game statistics, such as, but not limited to, hit streaks, winning streaks, or other feats reached by either a player or the team.

Requirements:

This position requires an above-average knowledge of the rules of baseball in order to make a confident judgment on any point of play during the game (i.e. hit or an error). The ability to remained focus, as well as hold an attention to detail is of high priority. The individual must have a basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs. It is required that a backup written scorebook be kept during the game, therefore the knowledge on how score a baseball game manually is important. The individual must be in attendance for all home games, plus any postseason home games, between the dates of June 1 and August 1.
