Job Description
The Volleyball Scorekeeper is responsible for accurately recording and maintaining the official score and related statistics during volleyball matches. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of the game by closely monitoring the progress of each set and match and maintaining clear communication team personnel.
- Record all points, timeouts, and other relevant match details using the official score sheet and electronic scoring system.
- Knowledge of the "Rally Point" scoring system.
- Knowledge of the B-SB Parks & Recreation Volleyball Rules and Code of Conduct.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with players when needed.
- Assemble volleyball net and prepare the score table before matches begin and disassemble after last match.
- Remain attentive and focused throughout the entire match.
- Monitor other activities in the Civic Center Annex.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Basic knowledge of volleyball rules and scoring procedures (training may be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Previous experience in scorekeeping or officiating (preferred but not required).
Required Special Qualifications:
- Must possess a current Montana Driver's license or have the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time after employment.
- Must be a resident of Butte-Silver Bow during employment according to Butte-Silver Bow Ordinance.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, walk and the ability to conduct activities involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching as they are used daily on a moderate to substantial basis.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate well with department personnel, other employees, representatives of other local, state, and federal agencies and the general public in person and by telephone.
- Sufficient vision, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate a computer keyboard.
