Full Job Description Hours:
Weeknights 5pm
  • 8pm and Saturday mornings/afternoons
Pay:
$13.26/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sports Coverage Worker is responsible for all fields or gymnasiums in use by the YMCA during the time the space is occupied for YMCA purposes. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greensboro is responsible for carrying out our promise to strengthen the foundations of community with focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility while upholding our values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manage department equipment and facilities. Assist in management of sports leagues. Supervise practices, games and all personnel required at each event, including filling in as referee for games when needed. Promote, administer and lead in the development and implementation of youth sports programs and services.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school completion not required; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, children, coaches and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to communicate effectively across all segments of the community. Ability to resolve conflict between all combinations of staff, volunteers, participants and parents. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. CPR/AED, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training required upon hire and must remain current throughout employment.
