Building Monitors / Sponsors are responsible for the well-being of Los Alamos Public School (LAPS) buildings when events are taking place after school hours. Monitors are representatives of the school and are responsible to maintain the credibility and respect of LAPS.
The following are a list a guidelines, duties, and responsibilities of a LAPS building monitor / sponsor. The Rentals Coordinator will communicate with monitors / sponsors and coordinate all events.
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of students and clients that use our
- Responsible for monitoring and communicating with event clients the operating parameters for the function
- Responsible for enforcing the LAPS no Bullying Policy
- Responsible for being on site and active for the scheduled event
- Responsible for opening and closing the facilities, monitoring equipment and property, maintaining the "leave as found" standard this includes replacement of furniture or equipment and the general cleanliness of the area used
- Responsible for directing the client if policies or unsafe behavior is being conducted by their group
- Responsible for checking keys in and out to properly perform their job duty

- After completion of each course, please print your Certificate of Completion and send to Los Alamos Public Schools Human Resources Department by hand delivery, mail or email.
- You have two (2) months maximum to complete all courses after you have been processed and fingerprinted to be a Coach with Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS).
To provide leadership, supervision and set examples for the LAMS Basketball program. Stay knowledgeable of NMAA, District, and Los Alamos rules and regulations. Attend clinics whenever possible to learn new ideas and to stay informed. Inventory and maintain equipment. Explain what is expected for basketball athletes on and off the court. Work in conjunction with the high school coaches. Make sure every athlete has a physical on file. Turn in all paperwork in a timely manner. Apply discipline in a firm, fair and positive manner. Make sure athletes conduct themselves in a proper manner on and off the the court. Make sure team treats opponents with respect. Keep the Athletic Director informed at all times about the program. Be able to work in cooperation with all the coaching staff; and parents. Must be able to demonstrate the sport or activity, including lifting all equipment as required by the activity. This is to include tournaments and practices. The employee must have the physical stamina to be able to handle the hours and physical stress of the sport during contests and practices. The employee should be able to use the machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative of those commonly associated with this type of work.
