Student Life General Summary Supports the planning and execution of intramural sports programming, providing event-day operations, promotional outreach, and administrative assistance. Mission Statement The mission of the OC Intramural Sports is to provide participation in a variety of sports & recreational related events that support student learning and personnel development while enhancing the quality of life for Odessa College students, faculty, staff, and families. Specific Position Duties Event support (12-18 events per academic year, averaging 2-3 events per month during September-November and February-April) Assist the Intramural Sports Coordinator in carrying out their duties. Provide event-day support, including setup and teardown, participant check-in, scorekeeping, equipment distribution, and general event supervision. Promotion and Outreach Help coordinate and promote intramural activities through flyers, campus communications, social media, and other student outreach. Special Programs Prepare facilities and equipment for scheduled activities, ensuring needed supplies and materials are ready before each event and properly stored afterward. Administrative Support Provide administrative and office support by maintaining schedules, organizing paperwork, tracking participation, preparing event materials, and assisting with basic data entry Learn the rules and mechanics of officiating each sport, then enforce them using proper mechanics. Conduct a pre-game captain's meeting to discuss rules and emphasize sportsmanship. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Familiarity with campus and intramural/recreation events preferred Ability to develop skills in conflict resolution and decision-making. Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work some evenings 2.0 GPA or above
