Job Summary Job Summary Seeking seasoned educators to work with 2nd grade students following Jibe Pedestrian Education curriculum and instruction. You don't need to be an expert in pedestrian safety but must be passionate about helping students gain experience and independence. We run a pedestrian education program in seven North Natomas schools with school day work shifts ranging from 4 - 6 hours. A typical shift could fall any time between 8:00am - 3:00pm. This program provides 2 45-minute sessions of instruction to 2nd graders during the school day in spring and fall. The first session takes place in the classroom while the second leads students on a walk around the neighborhood to practice the concepts. Responsibilities
  • Deliver interactive pedestrian safety curriculum in classrooms and outdoors
  • Strong classroom management while keeping the lesson engaging
  • Train volunteers and staff to assist with students during walking segment
  • Regularly audit and improve curriculum with other Instructors and the School Program Manager
  • Work with school administration and staff including coordinating with teachers Qualifications
  • Experienced teacher or similar youth leadership position; comfortable managing large groups of students
  • Exceptional with elementary aged children
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, energetic, outgoing, team-oriented
  • Technologically savvy; well versed with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GoogleApps
  • Clean background check
