This program will introduce students to the art, science, career opportunities, and entrepreneurship behind fragrance creation. The instructor will guide students through scent exploration, age-appropriate fragrance development, product branding, and interactive projects.

Based on experience and program placement Key Responsibilities Develop and facilitate safe, age-appropriate fragrance and perfumery lessons. Introduce students to fragrance families, including floral, citrus, fruity, fresh, woody, and warm scents. Teach students about top, middle, and base fragrance notes. Lead scent-identification challenges, fragrance-blending stations, and other interactive activities. Introduce careers in the fragrance, cosmetics, beauty, and product-development industries.

Explain industry positions such as:

Perfumer or "Nose" Fragrance Evaluator Cosmetic Chemist Product Developer Packaging Designer Creative Director Marketing Specialist Fragrance Entrepreneur Help students develop an original fragrance or fragrance concept using approved, cosmetic-grade materials. Incorporate entrepreneurship by helping students create: A product name A logo and label A target audience A brand story A packaging concept A marketing pitch Facilitate collaborative projects, individual creation time, and student presentations.

Implement the EYL workshop structure:

SEL check-in Warm-up activity Main hands-on activity Individual or team creation block Reflection and closing circle Display and follow a visual agenda during every session. Maintain an inclusive, organized, and encouraging learning environment. Follow all allergy, sanitation, material-handling, and student-safety procedures. Submit lesson plans, material requests, attendance records, and program recaps by the required deadlines. Prepare students for a culminating "Pitch Your Perfume" showcase or fragrance presentation. Arrive at least 15 minutes before each session for setup and preparation. Required Qualifications At least two years of experience teaching or facilitating programs for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Professional or instructional experience in at least one of the following areas: Fragrance development or perfumery Cosmetics or beauty Cosmetic chemistry Product development Beauty entrepreneurship Candle or soap making Related creative product-development fields Experience developing and leading hands-on, project-based activities. Strong classroom-management and youth-engagement skills. Ability to explain industry concepts in an age-appropriate and relatable manner. Knowledge of fragrance families, scent notes, blending, or cosmetic-product development. Understanding of allergies, scent sensitivities, sanitation, and the safe handling of fragrance materials. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality Ability to complete all required background checks and youth-program clearances. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a perfumer, fragrance specialist, cosmetic chemist, product developer, beauty entrepreneur, or fragrance-brand owner. Experience teaching fragrance-making, cosmetic formulation, candle-making, soap-making, or beauty entrepreneurship. Experience creating innovative STEAM, art, entrepreneurship, or career-exploration lessons. Experience helping students create and present finished products. Knowledge of culturally responsive and trauma-informed teaching practices. Relevant degree, certification, professional training, or portfolio. Experience preparing students for a culminating showcase or product pitch.
