Schedule:
After-school shifts are Monday-Friday, 2:00-5:00 PM, for 6+ weeks each semester. This position involves teaching real cooking and pastry techniques, including knife skills, working with dough, cracking eggs, using stovetops and ovens, measuring, mixing, and more. The role requires attention to detail, a high level of responsibility, and the ability to think ahead. Organization and time management are key to success. This is a mobile position, meaning instructors travel to various schools and facilities. We provide all necessary equipment, supplies, and curriculum. We operate in busy cities where traffic must be factored into scheduling. Responsibilities Travel to surrounding communities to teach hands-on cooking and/or pastry classes to K-8 students Prepare for lessons, including grocery shopping, setup, and cleanup Follow CookLearnGrow training, curriculum, and guidelines Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment Attend CookLearnGrow trainings and meetings Qualifications Willingness to learn and take direction Strong cooking skills Classroom management experience Passion for teaching children about food Strong ability to engage children and/or adults Professional appearance (tattoos must be covered; no facial piercings other than ears; minimal nails) Highly responsible with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional demeanor and communication skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with time and space constraints Education & Experience High school diploma required Degree in Culinary Arts, Education, Nutrition, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred Minimum of 6 months of experience teaching or leading children preferred Tools & Equipment Reliable transportation with space for an instructor kit Valid driver's license
