Job Description

Elementary/Middle School Teacher and additional educational staff Ina A. Colen Academy Ina A. Colen Academy is a tuition-free public charter school of choice located in the Calesa Township Community in Marion County, Florida. Founded in 2020, Ina A. Colen Academy serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Along with the school's mission to cultivate passionate learners in an inclusive school community in which individuality and empathy for other through collaboration and active learning, its passionate team of teachers has contributed to the achievement of a Grade "A" for three academic years in a row! The Ina A. Colen Academy is seeking dedicated Elementary and Middle School Teachers, ESE and additional school staff who is passionate about education and committed to helping students succeed. The ideal candidate is a professional educator, possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, collaborates effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders and is dedicated to making a positive impact on elementary school youth.
Essential Functions:
Develop, modify and implement lesson plans to meet the standards of the school's curriculum program as required by Florida Standards. Interpret and utilize data to plan instruction and provide differentiated support to meet the diverse needs of all learners and maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral data. Responsible for creating a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes student engagement and mutual respect; implements classroom behavior expectations through utilizing classroom management strategies; supervises students during non-classroom times (e.g., arrival/dismissal, lunch, transitions) as assigned. Provides verbal and written communication with student families in relation to student progress, behavior, educational assignments and school events. Collaborates with other teachers, support staff, and administrators to develop and implement instructional practices, assessments, and professional learning; participates in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field Proven experience working with students in an educational setting Ability to pass an extensive background screening process Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and instructional techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
