Job Summary This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by preparing students for successful careers in the Esthetics industry through hands-on, real-world training in a supportive learning environment. Under general supervision, the instructor will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses. The instructor will prepare standardized course syllabi using a provided template and assess students' satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. This instructor will teach courses for certificate program while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. This instructor will teach skin care, color, and makeup and facial treatments courses among others in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the industry and follows curriculum standards. The instructor will provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of Esthetics. Instruction- Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards.
- Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
- Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab environment.
- Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
- Provides student support and advising.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area.
- Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.
- Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline. Curriculum/Student Learning Outcomes
- Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
- Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program chair/director.
- Attends faculty meetings as scheduled. Competencies

- Decision making and problem-solving skills Work Environment This job operates in a professional classroom/lab/clinical environment.
- Certificate in Cosmetology or Esthetics from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.
- Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Esthetician or Master Cosmetologist License.
- 3 out of the last 7 years experience in the industry from the date of licensure.
Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:
- Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Esthetician Instructor or Master Cosmetology Instructor License.
- Esthetics teaching experience.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Experience in a spa, clinical, or medical esthetics setting

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
