Design & Technology Teacher - Dorchester Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to work within a secondary school in Dorchester . This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative educator who is passionate about practical learning and keen to help students develop valuable technical, design and problem-solving skills. You will join a supportive school environment where students are encouraged to be creative, think independently and develop confidence through practical and theoretical learning. The Role The successful Design & Technology Teacher will be responsible for: Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 Developing students' practical, creative and technical abilities Teaching students how to work safely with a variety of tools, materials and processes Encouraging creativity, innovation and independent problem-solving Supporting students through design projects from initial concepts to completed outcomes Preparing and delivering GCSE-level content where required Monitoring and assessing student progress effectively Providing clear, constructive feedback to support student development Creating an inclusive classroom where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider Design & Technology curriculum The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate: Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate teaching qualification Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally across KS3 and KS4 A passion for practical, creative and skills-based learning The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities Strong classroom management and communication skills A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and safeguarding ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
