Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Job Summary The Ed Tech III delivers specialized enrichment classes across PreK-3. This role bridges two key areas: teaching social-emotional skills using the Second Step curriculum, and leading hands-on STEAM classes. The ideal candidate can easily adapt lessons for diverse learners, including students in adaptive special education programs. Key Responsibilities
Second Step Lessons:
Teach structured, age-appropriate social-emotional lessons in PreK-3 classrooms.
STEAM Classes:
Lead hands-on, inquiry-based STEAM classes that foster creativity and problem-solving.
Special Ed Adaptation:
Design and modify STEAM lessons specifically for adaptive special education classes.
Staff Collaboration:
Partner with case managers, teachers, and support staff to align goals and support student IEPs.
School Duties:
Assist with daily supervision (recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal). Perform other duties as designated by the building principal. Qualifications & Skills
State Certification:
Must hold or be eligible for Maine Ed Tech III certification (90+ college credits) and pass CHRC background fingerprinting.
Flexibility:
Ability to switch smoothly between grade levels, subjects (SEL and STEAM), and learning environments.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and connect with young students.
Initiative:
Self-motivated to manage classroom dynamics and independently prep hands-on materials.
