$2000 stipend per class based on 40 students; adjusted higher/lower based on total students | approximately 6-8 classes per year (30 hours/class)
Description:
To provide required classroom instruction, Parent Information Sessions and Knowledge Testing according to the Minnesota Driver Education Rules.
Job Summary:
Support the District's mission and values at all times. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of current and past participants of the Driver's Education Program. Develop skills and abilities necessary to carry out assigned duties by attending meetings, in-service training, and other opportunities when scheduled. Maintain communication and professional customer service toward parents, staff participants, and the general public as a representative of Elk River Community Education Driver's Education Program. Attend all required staff meetings. Complete and submit required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner as assigned by the Coordinator. Report any concerns or problems to the Coordinator. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a current, not expired, Minnesota Teaching License. Must possess a valid, unexpired Traffic Safety Education certificate. Must be willing to obtain Certification and become licensed by the DPS to proctor MN State Knowledge Testing. Must possess a valid class D Driver's License for 3 years. Must be able to work with individuals with a wide range of skills. Must have knowledge of the classroom curriculum for class D motor vehicles. Must have effective organization of lessons and preparation to conduct classroom instruction. Must have good organizational skills and demonstrate dependability, promptness, and punctuality. Must be able to work independently. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Schedule:
Flexibility & availability to work a varied schedule as necessary for classes and testing. Coordinator determines Classroom Drivers Education and State Knowledge Testing times and locations with input from instructors.
