Job Description
The Tuscan Market, in Salem, NH, is looking for a part time Cooking School instructor to teach classes in Italian food and Pasta making. We have a specific classroom set in the Tuscan Market where we host classes in everything from Cocktails and Martini making, all the various pastas and filled pastas and sauces. We host wine dinners, private cooking classes for various businesses and kids pizza making and cookie decorating.
Applicant must have a strong background in cooking and cooking techniques, be passionate about food, love public speaking and be able to teach clear instruction on how to execute various recipes. We have been open for 5 years and have many recipes we already use but are always looking for new recipes and new class ideas. The classes are held in the evenings during the week, usually starting around 6 with about an hour to 2 hours of prep time. Applicant would need to be on site by between 4 and 5, depending on the class and its preparation needs. We have several classes on Saturdays and Sundays usually beginning around 11 and the last class beginning around 6 or 7. The classes average 2 hours and the "shift" can be between 4 and 5 hours depending on prep time and clean up. We are open for classes through the holidays as well as summer.
